The UCSF Department of Surgery is dedicated to recruiting, developing, and supporting a diverse group of faculty comprised of clinicians, educators, and scientists. As Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs and Development, Dr. Emily Finlayson is committed to developing a creative and collegial environment that will enable faculty to reach their full potential. The Faculty Affairs and Development Portal supports that mission.
Partnering with our clinical chiefs, we provide a robust onboarding experience including structured longitudinal mentoring, laying the groundwork for successful careers in academic surgery. We facilitate professional development through the coordination of leadership and communication training.
Surgery Grand Rounds
The UCSF Department of Surgery Grand Rounds is a weekly educational series for our Department's faculty, fellows, residents, and medical students covering a wide range of topics both within and outside of surgical science and practice.
